Advent Tradition

Practicing our faith together has made my lover and me stronger as a couple, deepened our bonds to one another.

One Advent tradition we observe is to make an Advent Wreath and pray together each Sunday evening during Advent. When our son is at home with us, the three of us pray together as a family.

When we had the house in Pennsylvania, we would go into the woods and gather white pine branches, pine cones and red winterberries to decorate the circle of candle holders. Now that we celebrate Christmas near the sea, in addition to evergreen sprigs, we’ll have shells, pebbles and beach glass to reflect the light from the candles.
