Christian Unity in Orient

Posted by Censor Librorum on Jan 21, 2007 | Categories: Lesbian in a Catholic Sort of Way

Lori and I plan to attend today’s 3:00 pm service for Christian Unity at the Orient Congregational Church. They are a member of the United Church of Christ, and listed in the directory of gay-friendly churches by gaychurch.org. We drive by the church every weekend on the way to the beach. I’m curious to have a look inside, and even more curious about the elements of today’s service. It will be conducted by a woman in a collar, which is always a plus in my book. Our pastor is encouraging everyone to participate. I’ll be on the lookout for another lesbian couple–or two–at the service. It would be nice to meet others where we have faith in common with sexuality.

I used the UCC textbook in my CCD class-they were sophmores or juniors I think in 1969. Always a very progressive church
