Physics as a Mystical Path

I get weary when people tell me, “I’m spiritual, but not religious”–as if being religious is a bad or dirty thing. I’m almost tempted to reply, “I’m religious, but not spiritual,” but that isn’t true. I would say I was both religious and spiritual.

But I also value Science to help me understand religion and spirituality. Science helps me to comprehend the workings of natural phenomenon. It enlivens my imagination. It solves some mysteries, and creates new ones. Is the universe all random, or does a formulaic path to God exist?

“A mystic is someone who wants to understand the universe, but is too lazy to study physics.” – anonymous

“Science withou religion is lame, religion without science is blind.” – Albert Einstein
