Easter Colors

If red and green are the colors of Christmas, then yellow is the color of Easter. So many things I associate with it are yellow: daffodils, marshmallow peeps, colored eggs, and the bright sunshine of a spring morning-especially out here on the East End where everything is illuminated by light bouncing off the sea.

Easter and flowers are co-mingled. They are symbols of life renewed after winter; but how they make everything around them more beautiful is their spiritual significance for me. Either way, I love to sit on the porch and look at them. My crocuses are up, and next week the daffodils and hyacinths will follow.
