I Love Terroir Coffee

Time to give Catholicism a break and turn to what fuels this blog: good coffee.

Terroir coffee is my current favorite. I sample everything, but the coffees from Columbia, Indonesia and Ethiopia are the most appealing for me. It’s hard to wait from grinding the beans to the first cup. Coming back from getting a bagel and the papers, the luscious coffee aroma envelopes me and tells me I’m home.

My one quirk is having my milk in a creamer. This probably goes back to the years when I traveled for work a lot, and got used to a sugar bowl, creamer and pot of coffee in the morning. I have started to collect antique creamers. My current favorite in the apartment is a tripod from Germany with a rose design; out at the house a heavy cut glass creamer with a six-pointed star on the bottom. There was a subconscious attraction – my mother had a similar one we used to use on holidays when I was growing up.
